Trump doubts about the meeting of Putin-Zelensky: ‘Maybe they should fight a little longer’

President Trump doubts about the prospects of a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as part of an attempt to end the war in Eastern Europe, suggesting “maybe fighting a little longer.”

In an interview with The Daily Caller, the president expressed the confidence that a trilateral meeting could be realized between himself and Zelensky, but had less confidence in the bilateral hiding place between the two Eastern European leaders.

‘A [trilateral] would happen. A [bilateral]I don’t know about it, but a tri will happen. But, you know, sometimes people are not ready for it, ‘Trump told the Caller’s correspondent of the White House, Reagan Reese, in an interview published on Saturday.

“I say … I use the analogy. I used it a few times. You have a child, and there is another child in fate, on the playground, and they hate each other, and they start swinging, swinging and swinging, and you want them to stop, and they keep on, “he goes on. ‘After a little while they are very happy to stop. Do you understand that? It’s almost so. Sometimes they have to fight a little before you can stop them. ‘

The president added: “But it’s been going on for a long time. Many people are dead.”

Trump, as part of his attempt to end an end to the approximately three and a half-year war, has used to have a meeting between Zelensky and Putin. The Ukrainian leader, who also met with the president earlier this month, indicated that it was prepared to sit down with the Kremlin leader, but Russian officials have rejected it so far.

For the time being, Russia seems to be slowing down the administration’s attempt to mediate a peace agreement to end the battles. Ukraine rejected the prospect of making great territorial concessions to end the war, as US and European officials continued to discuss possible security guarantees to the conflict to prevent another invasion.

Trump again excluded that our troops on the ground as part of a security guarantee, but indicated openness to provide US air support to help stop the war, something he flowed earlier this month.

“Maybe we’ll do something. Look, I’d like to see something being solved. They are not our soldiers, but there are five to 7,000, mostly young people who are killed every week, ‘the president told Reese in the interview. “If I could stop it and let an airplane fly around the air every now and then, it would usually be the Europeans, but we, we will help them.”

“They, you know, they need it, and we’ll help them if we could do something,” he added.

After meeting with Putin in Alaska earlier this month, a US official appointed a major concession from Russia, enabling “NATO-like” security guarantees for Ukraine as part of a peace agreement. The commitment does not seem to be in place, as Russia is asking for an effective veto about what the security guarantees would look like.

One of the red lines of the Kremlin is that the European peacekeepers are involved in Russian officials, which proposes China as one of the security people.

While the peace talks seem to come to a standstill, the conflict continued with Russia who launched massive air strikes on Ukraine. On Thursday, Moscow Kyiv struck with a large missile and drone assault that killed 23 people and injured dozens of others.

Hours later, the Trump administration approved a sale of 3.350 Extensive Series Attack Munition (Eram) missiles and 3.350 GPS units to Ukraine, which is part of a $ 825 million ammunition to strengthen Kyiv’s defensive capability.
