Deborra-Lee Furness issued an emotional public statement stating that her ‘heart and compassion went out to all who went through the traumatic journey of betrayal’ a few days after submitting a divorce from Hugh Jackman.
The celebrity couple announced their separation in September 2023 after a 27 -year relationship. It is now widely reported that Furness officially applied in a court in New York on May 23.
In a statement released to the media on Wednesday, Furness said it was an ‘profound wound that cut deep’, but she believed in a higher power and that God/the universe … always work for us. “

“This belief has helped me navigate the division of an almost three decades marriages,” she said.
Furness further said that she “gained a lot of knowledge and wisdom through this experience”.
“Even if we get an apparent adversity, it leads us to our greatest things, our true purpose,” her statement reads.
“It’s so easy to get lost in looking for love and validation beyond ourselves, but that’s not where it lives – it lives inside. Sometimes the universe must create difficult circumstances to walk through to find our way home, back to our true being and the sovereignty of self -love.
“It can hurt, but in the long run, to return to yourself and live within your own integrity are values and boundaries liberation and freedom.”
The couple met in 1995 while working on the ABC TV prison drama Correlliin which Jackman played a prisoner and Furness – a much bigger star at the time – played a prison psychologist.
