The Renault 5 Turbo 3rd, the world’s first electric mini-supercar, looks just as bonkers as we hoped


There is not many Cars that are expected to sell out before anyone has even seen the interior, but the Renault 5 Turbo 3rd can be one of them.

Three years after the draft launch in the Paris Motorshow in 2022, the expected hyper-setback and the electrical recharge of the iconic Renault 5 Turbo and Turbo 2 are now revealed at least partially.

At a trademark host event at Renault HQ near Paris, the outside of the Hot Hatch was unveiled for the first time outside the versions, and it seems to be increasingly the case with the production versions of EV concepts, it looks just as a bonkers as suggested with the striking yellow and black Lesvery of the 1982 Renault 5 Turbo Model.

Renault said it is the most powerful, most advanced car yet, and it is so far to call it the world’s first electric mini-supercar. With its prominent bumper and rear wing expansion, the design inspiration that took the compact warm-out of his namesake is clear, but it also lends several elements from the Renault 5 e-Tech Electric, including the taillights and wing mirrors.

Unlike the car, however, the Turbo 5 3rd is exclusive rear -wheel drive and is built on a new platform that moves the windshield back and protruding the wheel base, giving the width of a supercar in the length of a city car.

It uses rear wheel cars that, according to Renault, will align the Turbo 5 3E in the execution of supercars such as the Ferrari Roma and McLaren Artura, which immediately deliver every torque to the 20-inch wheels of the car, without any loss and no delay. The result? This car will not only be fast, it will apparently be a dream of a power.

The specifications are impressive: 540 hp, a maximum velocity of 168 mph and 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds, all aided by a lightweight carbon fiber body. Renault says the 5 Turbo 3rd will be able to load up to 350 kW quickly with an 800 volt architecture, which should take 15 minutes to load from 15 to 80 percent with the right charger.
