Should you upgrade?
Ah, the age-old question. Should you get the new iPhone? Our philosophy here at Wired is that you should only upgrade as your need to. Is your current phone perfectly good? If the experience is in order for the most part, but maybe your battery life has deteriorated, try a battery exchange first – Apple offers a battery replacement program at a modest fee – and it can breathe new life into your device. There are also more ways to restore an iPhone than ever before.
But if your current phone is frustrating to use, upgrade! Like the iPhone 15 series, the entire iPhone 16 series has a USB-C port. These devices can also benefit from Apple Intelligence (along with the iPhone 15 Pro) – if it’s something you care about.

Which iPhone 16 model is best with you?
The iPhone 16 series contains the iPhone 16E, iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max. The iPhone 16 and 16 Plus are identical except for the size of the screen and the battery life. The same goes for both pro models. Between the two pairs, the decision amounts to whether you want a small or large phone.
How does the iPhone compare 16E? This is the same size as the iPhone 16, but since it is the cheapest, Apple has cut some features to achieve the $ 599 price. The design is especially different-there is no color-infused glass here. It is powered by the A18 chip, but it does not have one GPU core for a total of four, unlike the pental GPU on the standard iPhone 16. This means a slight hit for graphic performance, which games and affect other demanding tasks. Unlike the rest of the series, this iPhone does not have the dynamic island -driving selfie camera system, but uses the Notch camera design as on the original iPhone X.
