As part of Best Buy’s “Techtober” sales opportunity, I stumbled upon the best laptop agreement I saw in a while. It is for $ 450 of the Acer Swift 16 AI (8/10, recommended), which costs $ 800. Now, I’m not saying $ 800 qualifies it as a ‘budget’ laptop, but you need to investigate the specifications on this to see why I want to go over the discount.
The laptop not only has 16 GB of RAM and a terabyt storage, but also a 16-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 2.880 x 1 800. That OLED screen even has an update of 120 Hz. You will not find a 16-inch laptop with a show this beautiful at this price anywhere else. What is important, it also comes with an Intel Core Ultra 7 256V CPU, an effective processor known for obtaining excellent battery life and decent performance. Our own testing has led to 13 hours of YouTube video playback, which is not as long as other laptops with this slide. But as our judge puts it, it’s probably good enough for most users.
Look, the Acer Swift 16 AI would not be my first choice based on appearance alone. It’s a little finer than I would prefer at 0.79 inches thick. There are definitely more attractive and portable 16-inch laptops there, such as the LG Gram Pro 16 (6/10, Wired Revised). Another great option I see is the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Aura edition for $ 900. It has a slightly smaller screen of 15.3 inches, but it is a match with the Acer Swift 16 for specifications, including the CPU and OLED screen. The advantage is a nicer design and a much thinner chassis, only 0.55 inches.
Best Buy’s Techtober runs until October 12, which is similar to Amazon’s October Prime Day sales event, also known as Big Deal Days. That said, there will be many wonderful laptops for sale during the first day, so make sure you will look at the list of all the best laptops taking place this week.
