‘Hollow Knight: Silksong’ causes online game stores to collapse already

After six years of wait, Team Cherry’s long -awaited Hollow knight successor, Sheongtoday launched worldwide at 10:00 EDT. Unfortunately, fans may have to wait a little longer to play the action adventure game. Online retailers such as the Xbox and PlayStation stores, Steam and Nintendo Eshop are full of loading screens and error messages while people are chasing it to buy it.

On Steam, players trying to add the game in their wagon or complete their purchase are with the same message: an image of a frustrated ball with the heading “Something went wrong.” Link players on Bluesy say the eshop hangs on screens or error messages. In the PlayStation store, the game seems to have disappeared for some players, while it is not available to buy for others. According to Verge reporter Tom Warren, fans should try to buy the game on Xbox Game Pass at distance on the console website.

Instead of playing the game, many fans turn their frustrations on social media.

“Steam, let me play Silksong,” one blusky user posted. “The first boss of #silksong is really tough,” another one wrote with a photo of Steam’s error message. Twitch streamers trying to play the game for their viewers have similar problems. On X, the user @haydenschiff has put a screenshot of many streamers that encounter the same steam error message.

Players who have successfully managed to buy the game are gaining their success. “God’s favorite,” wrote one with a photo of Sheong On their switch 2.

Sheongannounced in 2019 is the follow -up of Team Cherry’s debut title, Hollow knight. A winning combination of Dark souls-so trouble and cartoon -like charm, Hollow knight became an award-winning indie love that sold more than 15 million copies-an impressive achievement for his small, Australian developer. While the team initially planned to release Sheong As a downloadable content, the project eventually drew up in a full -fledged title that took seven years to end.

Despite years of few updates and little news, the Sheong Fanbase remained active. Some fans even waited in a game, while others dedicated their time to (mostly non-existent) daily news updates.

The weeks before SheongAvailable today for Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, PS4/PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC, were chaotic for playmakers and fans. After developers made a surprising announcement in August that the game would start in two weeks, at least half a dozen fellow -Indie developers delayed their own games to make room. “If you drop the GTA of indie games by 2 week notice, everyone is freaked,” wrote Demonschool Developer Necrosoft on Bluesy after announcing his own delay.

The popularity of the game is unmistakable. As of writing, Sheong is Steam’s best-selling game; It already has over 100,000 simultaneous players on that platform alone. For those who try to buy another copy, it seems that years of waiting were a good practice for the launch day.
