Zoë Schiffer: Completely. Ok. I have to move ourselves to a new topic because I already feel pretty depressed. This one deals with outer space. So my first question for you is how do you feel about outer space, Jake? And would you go if you had the chance? Normally I would say, no, thank you. I’m not interested. But I don’t know after this, yes, take me to Mars.
Jake Lahut: Oddly enough, I would probably be more comfortable going to outer space than doing the exploration of deep ocean. This can be a bias with the-
Zoë Schiffer: I’m going to say.
Jake Lahut: … The Ocean Gate -ding. But no, I was a lot in the, not just the Apollo missions, but twins and Mercury as a child. I had a small bean bag chair in my house where I would pretend it was the capsule-
Zoë Schiffer: Oh my gosh.
Jake Lahut: … that enters the atmosphere again, in search of everything-
Zoë Schiffer: I can suggest it perfectly.
Jake Lahut: Yes. So big all Shepard, John Glenn fan. I love all that. But I am also a fairly big person, and I think the pace in the vessel would be difficult.
Zoë Schiffer: Completely fair. I cannot 100% guarantee that you would see it if you found a vessel you could take, but contributor Jorge Garay reported that a team of astronomers from Yale and Copenhagen recently discovered two galaxies that clash with each other. They called it the Infinity Galaxy. And this finding is quite exciting because it can be the first direct proof of how old super -massive black holes are formed.
Jake Lahut: Yes. These are some interstellar type of things, but it really looks like the eighth formation. And I found this beautiful striking. Especially in our vertical video treatment, if you want to investigate it on Instagram roles. It is quite enchanting, I must say.
Zoë Schiffer: So the prominent theory of how it forms is when stars do not have fuel and collapse under their own gravity. But with very old super -massive black holes, there wouldn’t have been enough time for the stars to get to that point. So this Infinity Galaxy supports another theory that they could form out of dense lumps of matter so that no stars needed.
Jake Lahut: At least we still discover new things about science in the United States. And maybe it will continue, maybe it won’t.
Zoë Schiffer: Well, if not, AI is going to get in and do everything for us.
Jake Lahut: Doge can’t go there and at least catch up to the James Webb telescope. No one is catching that bad boy anytime soon.
Zoë Schiffer: Ok. So our next story takes us back to Earth and, honestly, back to the Silicon Valley elite of it all. Our colleague, Joel Khalili, reported that Crypto firms eventually gain more access to banking. It is actually critically important and both cover our reporting areas, Jake, because De-Banking was a core reason that many of the Marc Andreessen species in the world were really acquired on the Biden Administration and entered Trump. Now we see the fruits of the decision, because under the crypto-friendly Trump administration, a number of our Fintech firms compete to offer bank accounts to these crypto firms. But they still have to follow the land rules introduced by the partner bank in question, and therefore there is no fully escaped traditional banking system. But curious about you take here, given how critical it was for the last election.
